Here + Now | Currently Loving

Friday, March 21, 2014 /

Hi!

Today I am sharing the things I am currently loving and my new Studio Calico Office Hours Project Life Kit that came in the mail this week! Yay!

David's Tea

(1) two of the new plants I bought this week at a fundraiser for the public schools here
(2) my shark bookmark my husband drew for me, a couple weeks ago, for my love of books and sharks so nerdy haha (the other side has a tribal type drawing of a shark)
(3) my beautiful mug my husband brought back for me from Mexico
(4) David's Tea because I am a David's Tea addict

Also, I have been hooked on this song lately. I am always playing it and singing it haha
I love all the scenery of Guatemala in the video. Makes me want to go there!
Check it out!

Here are the lyrics translated into English if you are interested :)

And now for some pictures of the Office Hours Project Life Kit:

Sick

Thursday, March 20, 2014 /

Hi!

My hubby and I are sick :( But luckily, we have the best dog to keep us company! Here is my dog (Gus) keeping me company while I watch Visto Bueno on YouTube. My hubby is Mexican and I am improving my Spanish so I like to watch videos in Spanish or listen to Spanish music and look up the lyrics to help me learn new words - especially slang (Mexicans love slang!). I am going to go and rest and maybe I will feel better tomorrow! Hopefully none of you are sick and you had a wonderful day!

Flashback Friday | Teal and Pink | So This Is Love

Friday, March 14, 2014 /

Happy Friday!
I thought I would share a quick post of a scrapbook page I did a couple years ago. I really love the color combination of teal and pink. I have everything at my work coordinating with this page haha so lame!

On this page I used a lot of different embellishments. I used the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Love Stitch Piercer (long name!), to stitch the "love" beside the photo. It's a really great tool, especially if you want to add stitching but you don't have a sewing machine or embroidery skills.

I also added some stamping with cute phrases like "hello love" and "adorable you". I got the stamps at Michaels in the $1.50 stamp bins (love them!). The butterflies were punched out and fastened with the famous Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. Who doesn't love tiny staples?!? I personally prefer almost everything in mini! Also the "so this is love" label, made by my Dymo Label Embosser, was attached with mini staples :) I love the crochet flowers - reminds me that I wanted to make some!

Hope you enjoy the post and have a great friday!

xoxo

Welcome to Scrappy Forever Blog

Saturday, March 8, 2014 /

Hi there!

My name is Hillary! My plan for this blog is to share my scrapbooking projects, particularly with using Becky Higgin's Project Life. This is my first year doing Project Life, but I have been scrapbooking for 12 years now. In high-school I did some large scrapbooking albums for school projects and after that I made many albums for presents and a few for myself. I have always enjoyed crafts, and in addition to scrapbooking, I knit, crochet, make jewelry, paint, draw, sew and embroider.

I really enjoy scrapbooking blogs so I thought I would try having my own. My current favorites are: Finding NanaAmanda Rose Blog; Art as LifeThe Scrappy Jedi and Happie Scrappie

Since I have decided to start Project Life this year, I am now a subscriber to Studio Calico's Project Life Kit. I love their products and how I get a new box full of creativity every month! The past few days I kept checking the mailbox to see if my new kit had arrived yet hahaha.

So....here is my first post! I am showing my first completed Project Life spread. For some reason I completed week three before finishing the other spreads haha so here is my spread for week 3! I really hope that you enjoy it! Have a great weekend and a beautiful day!

xoxo
